At Packers Supply, we believe in a lot of things (most of which are probably true!).
Two topics which we take to heart recently affected a business and process decision for us:
- Listening to our customers
- Safety first
Over a span of 6 weeks covering dozens of plant visits with customers, our sales team heard several buyers express frustrations with the way in which knives are packaged from their various vendors. This frustration was usually pointed at someone else, but on one occasion it was directed at us. We historically used newspaper or other paper material to wrap and tape blades, which is ‘okay’ but not ideal. Apparently some of our competition does even less, though, as our customers were receiving knives only loosely packaged in a box. That is downright dangerous.
Our sales team brought this info/feedback to our warehouse and we brainstormed how to provide a better service to our customers, heeding the feedback and incorporating better packaging processes for our team and customers at the same time. This resulted in our evaluation of skin packaging machines for small batch shipments, and our selection of the one shown below from Starview.
Small but mighty. Just like us.
You can see my boys proudly showing it on the day we got it set up (and that they are not altogether the most serious group, at least not all the time):
Thank you, dear reader, for taking a moment out of your busy day to check us out at Packers Supply! We’d love to hear from you.
